History

Château Gaillot-Fournier is located east of Bordeaux city in the charming Entre-Deux-Mers region,​

also know as the French Tuscany

Here for 3 generations, the Zanon family has taken care and developed the vineyard, now comprising of 17 hectares of vines

The Château is bought in 2018 by Jacques and Pierre-Jean Brunet aiming at valorizing the terroir and it's wine qualities 

Terroir

The vines are located on hillsides well exposed to sunlight. Age is 30 years old on average and goes up to 60 years

The soil is mainly limestones with clay

Grape varieties are Merlot for about 70 % Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec follow

The white wines are made from Sauvignon Blanc et Sémillon 

Winemaking

The Wine-making process takes place in our installation in temperature-controlled vats

About 10 days is necessary for alcoholic fermentation

The final blends are prepared with the assistance from a local oenologist

The Bordeaux "cuvée réserve" is aged in French oak barrels from 10 to 12 months
